Indian Mobile Subscribers can shoo away telemarketing calls with XBLOCKR application
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  26 Apr 2010

With even policy guidelines and rules & regulations failing to curb the menace of tele-marketing calls on mobile phones, Bangalore-based Aquilonis’s new application, ‘XBLOCKR’ aims to fill in the latent demand from subscribers in addressing this issue.

The company’s XBLOCKR application promises to prevent such calls and claims that the application is already being used by 25,000 users on over 250 types of handsets as well as platforms including Symbian, BlackBerry and Windows. IT says over 5000 downloads were registered for the application within a week of launch.

While the application is available for free download on www.XBLOCKR.com, users can also avail the application on Airtel App Central store, Nokia OVI and Microsoft Marketplace for Windows.

The company claims that the application occupies minimal space in the handset memory and works real time, thus addressing key challenges of mobile applications.

Rahuldev Rajguru, Co-Founder & CEO of Aquilonis, says,” We realized that the Indian mobile user has been for long seeking a solution that would help them to enable Do Not Disturb option, discreetly duck, drop or divert unwanted calls without offending the caller.”

While directly offering the application to end-consumers, the company is also exploring tie-ups with mobile service providers for enhanced uptake of the services.
