IBM offers business intelligence services on BlackBerry
TT Bureau |  |  15 May 2008

IBM has joined hands with Research In Motion to offer business intelligence services through its Cognos business intelligence software on Blackberry devices.

The combined initiative will enable the customers to securely manage their communications, contacts and schedules and collaborate and network through social software via BlackBerry smartphones, claims the tie-up.

The companies said that the users will have an access to new BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Connections and IBM’s social software for business.

Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO at Research In Motion said “The organizational and personal benefits of the Lotus collaboration suite together with the mobility and security advantages of the widely-adopted BlackBerry platform provide an unmatched solution for enterprise customers.”

The Cognos software allows customers to view real-time analytics on the state of their business via Blackberry phones.
