Saudia selects Sun Microsystems to upgrade IT infrastructure

Saudi Arabia Airlines (Saudia) has selected Sun Microsystems to upgrade its IT infrastructure to ensure business continuity.

 

Saudia which has deployed European software firm SAP’s solution for enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, will take help from Sun Microsystems to run the SAP solution effectively by leveraging its infrastructure like servers, storage, and back-up solutions.

 

Speaking on the contract, Muhammad Al-Bakri, Saudia’s ERP Project Director and Chief of Systems Engineering and Technology, said “Sun provided an integrated tested solution that can be deployed quickly enough to help reduce cost and risk, improve availability, scalability, security, flexibility, and manageability.”
