Greenplum, a provider of database software for business intelligence, said it has roped in several new telecommunication customers, across Asia during the first two quarters of 2008, for its Database software. The newly signed on clients include Thailand’s AIS, OnMobile in India and Telecom Malaysia.

Greenplum Database, claimed to be the world’s fastest, most cost-effective database solution, is implemented by telcos to power, an array of applications, from security compliance and customer acquisition to call detail record analysis.

Whilst commenting on its growth, Vinay Samuel, Greenplum vice president, Asia said, “Greenplum has experienced enormous market interest and take-up outside the U.S., especially within the telecommunications vertical.” 

Furthermore, to address the growing interest in the software from the field, the company is establishing a Singapore-based regional office, and has also increased its work force and sales capability.
