The value-added services (VAS) in the country is set to touch upon a different scale altogether. After cashing in on the now conventional services like ringtones, downloads, games etc, the operators are now on the lookout for new avenues and services in the VAS domain.
Reliance Communications seems to have identified one such new avenue. The company is reported to be in talks with Bangalore-based Healthcare Magic Pvt. Ltd to start a tele-medicine and mobile health consultancy services. The service to be called ‘Doc On Call’ is expected to be launched by December this year.
The services which are to be positioned in the premium category will involve the subscriber calling on the helpline number and the call to be answered by doctor from Healthcare Magic. The doctor will prescribe medicines and treatment based on the symptoms, medical history etc.
Healthcare Magic claims that its online version of the concept attracts on an average 3,500 enquiries. The company plans to appoint 50-60 full time doctors for the services. |
