ACT launches IPTV services in Bangalore

ACT Television announced the launch of its IPTV services in Bangalore making it the first service provider to offer such services in the state.

 

"ACT wanted to bring the digital experience at an affordable rate to all with this interactive TV, or otherwise called triple-play service, as it allows TV broadcasting, Internet access and telephony. ACT has launched this Rs 450 crore venture, the first of its kind here, eyeing the vast potential in cable industry,” said Sunder Raju, MD, ACT Television.

 

The company technology partners for the initiative include Cisco, Verismo, Vermatrix, MRO-Tek, Scopus, Oracle and E&Y.

 

The company is targeting a subscriber base of around 1 lakh for its IPTV services in Bangalore in the next 18-24 months.

 

It claims that its video-on-demand service has a movie library of around 4,500 movies.
