BBC seeks view points from industry players, viewers for IPTV services
TT Bureau |  |  02 Mar 2009

Leading global broadcaster, BBC announced a new initiative named as Project Canvas which calls for view points of industry players as well as its viewers before launching its IPTV services.

"We will be scrutinising it to ensure the best possible outcome for licence fee payers," said BBC Trustee Diane Coyle. "We are now inviting all interested parties and members of the public to tell us what they think."

''The Trust has challenged the BBC Executive to come up with proposals to help bring the benefits of the BBC's public investment to the whole PSB sector,' added Coyle.

BBC plans to know viewpoints on its delivery for the IPTV services, need for no monthly subscription and a broadband connection for the agreed devices.

The new plans allow users to access BBC iPlayer content through a set-top box.
