Opera Mini claims over 200 % monthly growth in Indian mobile web space

Opera Mini, the mobile browser from Opera designed specifically for the mobile users claims 247.6% growth in monthly page-views in the Indian market with unique visitor growth also at a healthy rate of 98.9%.

According to Opera, Nokia dominates the handset in the Indian mobile web space with all the top 10 handsets from which users accessed mobile web coming from Nokia fold. The top handsets include Nokia 5130, Nokia 5130c, Nokia N70, Nokia N73, Nokia 3110c, Nokia 2700c, Nokia 6300, Nokia N72, Nokia 3500c and Nokia 7210

Indians are seen accessing google, orkut, gmail, facebook, Wikipedia, songs.pk, yahoo,  my.opera, youtube and wap.in in that order.

India is the third largest market for the company in terms of traffic contribution.
