Tulip Telecom bags R-APDRP project in Punjab

Tulip Telecom Ltd. has recently been named as the Network Bandwidth Service Provider (NBSP) for deploying data connectivity services in the state of Punjab under the R-APDRP scheme. The company has been selected for execution of this order for the supply, installation and commissioning of MPLS VPN and internet connectivity services to all the towns under the R-APDRP scheme floated by Punjab State Power corporation Ltd, Patiala worth Rs 37.95 Cr. The project is required to be delivered over a period of 12 to 18 months and maintained over a period of 3 years by Tulip Telecom Ltd.

Tulip has been selected for the execution of this order as a part of the larger Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Program (R-APDRP), an initiative driven by Ministry of Power, Government of India, to set up reliable & automated systems for sustained collection of accurate base line data & the adoption of Information Technology in the areas of metering, billing, energy accounting & customer care. This will enable provision of the right information & experience to customers and significantly reduce Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses.

This is the fourth R-APDRP project bagged by Tulip. Prior to this, Tulip was chosen as the Network Bandwidth Service Provider for offering services in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, with a cumulative project value of Rs.208.35 crores.

Commenting on this, Sanjay Jain, CEO, Tulip Telecom Ltd. said, “We are extremely pleased to announce our 4th R-APDRP Project win, this further strengthens our positioning in the power sector. We have earlier been chosen as the Network Bandwidth Service Provider (NBSP) for providing Data Connectivity Services in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttarakhand. As we move forward, we expect the scope of providing bandwidth to such projects to expand significantly in both the utilities sector as well as in rural connectivity initiatives.” He further added, “I am confident that the deployment of these projects will enhance the performance in terms of sustaining energy loss reduction in the power sector and thus contribute positively towards India’s economic growth.
