Mobile gear market slows down in Q3; Huawei beats NSN to claim number 2 spot

The global mobile gear market growth slowed down in Q3 as per market research firm Dell’Oro with the market rising 5% on yoy comparison.

The 5% growth is in trends with the previous quarters when the reported growth was 17% in Q2 and 14% in Q1.

The growth trends are also in line with the forecast made by players such as NSN which has forecasted a flat market in 2010 and Alcatel-Lucent which has forecast a 0 to 5% growth for the year.

Ericsson continued to lead with a market share of 33.7%. Huawei followed with a market share of 20.6% while NSN witnessed a drop in market share from 20.8% to 19.8% in Q2.
