IBM to jointly develop NEC-branded data warehouse appliances
TT Correspondent |  Mumbai |  27 Dec 2010

IBM announced an extended agreement to jointly develop NEC-branded data warehouse appliances

Under the agreement, NEC will continue to sell the jointly-developed data warehouse appliances worldwide, the first of which InfoFrame DWH Appliance became generally available in June of 2010.  The two companies also announced that Japan’s Shikoku Coca Cola has selected NEC’s InfoFrame DWH Appliance to gain faster insight into their business information.

“Our support of NEC and the Netezza partnership is another example of IBM’’s commitment to helping clients simplify their information management demands for better business outcomes,”  said Arvind Krishna, general manager, IBM Information Management.

“Our relationship with Netezza allows NEC to market essential products that deliver fast, cost efficient analytic solutions globally, and we are pleased that this relationship will continue,” said Takao Maruyama, Associate SVP, IT Hardware at NEC.
