D.K. Ghosh, CMD India, ZTE , to step down

D. K. Ghosh, the CMD India, ZTE has announced his decision to step down from  the China based global telecom equipment company ZTE Telecom as the CMD of its India operations. In a statement Dr. Ghosh said he is leaving to pursue his own entrepreneurial talent. Sources said he will be leading a new technology company focussed on consulting and infrastructure.  

 

Dr. Ghosh who holds B. Tech, MBA and Ph. D degrees had been with Philips, Modis, Salora and Siemens before taking over as CMD of ZTE in 2007. His association with the Telecom & Electronics Industry spans over several decades and is a leading Telecom personality being one of the pioneers in the field. He has authored several publications and his latest book "Digital India"has been widely acclaimed. Currently he is Chairing the Indo-China Business Council of Assocham.  At Siemens Public Communications Ltd he was the executive director and  the only Indian to be on the Board of the company.  ZTE India operations grew from $100 million to one billion USD under his stewardship.  The Shenzhen-based global telecom company had requested him to continue leading it for some more time but his creative urges were forcing him to take up new challenges, Dr. Ghosh said in a message to the ZTE employees in India His resignation will be effective March 31.
