Qualcomm appoints Avneesh Agrawal as new India head

Wireless telecom solutions company Qualcomm Inc today appointed Avneesh Agrawal as the new President of Qualcomm India and South Asia . 

Agrawal replaces Kanwalinder Singh, the Senior Vice-President of Qualcomm and President of Qualcomm India, who has been appointed Senior Vice-President of Business Development in the newly-created New Markets Group within Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, the company told reporters here. 

"In this role, my job will be to focus on growing the Qualcomm chipset business in the machine-to-machine segment with initial focus on smart automotive and smart energy technologies," Singh said. 

Singh would be responsible for relationship and business development in these domains, besides solutions development and design, and would be based in the US and report to Qualcomm Executive Vice-President and Group President Steve Mollenkopf.
