2G scam: Telenor sees no impact on India business from probe
TT Correspondent |  |  22 Jul 2011
Norway's Telenor does not expect its activities in India to be impacted by the ongoing investigation into the award of 2G phone licenses, a major political scandal for the government of Manmohan Singh .

"We anticipate that the outcome of these legal processes should not affect our business activity in India," Chief Executive Jon Fredrik Baksaas told a news conference, adding that Telenor's entry was according to rules and regulations.

"We see that authorities and other institutions (in India) understand this position," he said.

"But there is still to see the final, revised regulatory framework that we expect to see this autumn."
