TT Correspondent |  |  05 Sep 2011

Comviva, on Monday said that it leads the electronic top-up platform in Bangladesh with all leading GSM and CDMA operators now having deployed Comviva’s PreTUPS, electronic recharge solution.

On deploying the award-winning PreTUPS electronic recharge solution, one of the leading  operator penetrated the huge low-income market segment by offering previously unavailable low denomination top-ups – which now constitute over 95% of all top-up sales in that market.

Speaking on the occasion, Milind Pathak, Vice President, South Asia, Comviva said, “Our PreTUPS solution has received overwhelming acceptance from operators and subscribers in Bangladesh. Enabling payments and P2P transfers is a compelling proposition – especially in markets where financial networks are relatively weak. PreTUPS, operators are able to serve the lowest income segments of the market cost-effectively and thereby expand their customer base, which ultimately translates into a more thriving economy and greater economic growth.”
