Nokia India sales up by 36%

Global handset manufacturer, Nokia posted sales of 51 billion euros in 2007. India sales accounted 3.6 billion euros which is a growth of 36% as compared to 2006 figure of 2.7 billion euros while China sales reached 5.9 billion euros.

 

"Our significant market share gains in Asia-Pacific were primarily driven by our strong position in the fastest growing markets, such as India. In Asia-Pacific, we continued to benefit from our brand, broad product portfolio and extensive distribution system," said a company statement.

 

The over all sales for the company grew by 24.2 per cent as compared to total sales of 4.1 billion euros last year.

 

India accounted as second major contributor to the sales of the company after China. Germany, Great Britain and USA were the other top contributors for the company.
