TT Bureau |  |  24 Mar 2008

The usage of Safari on the iPhone has increased by 64 per cent between December and March, according to StatCounter. Safari is a web browser developed by Apple Inc.

The iPhone browser’s share of the global Internet browser market more than doubled in the same period, from 0.03 percent to 0.08 percent.

Within these three months, the market share in the U.S. jumped from 0.14% to 0.23% for Safari. According to the sources, iPhone is lead mobile browser in the United States, while Nokia contributes to 0.25% in the global market.

StatCounter founder and CEO Aodhan Cullen said, “The key message is that iPhone is more than living up to its claims of being a user friendly Internet browser, unlike many other cell phones.”
