2G: Raja finally decides to put up his defence
TT Correspondent |  |  23 Dec 2011

The jailed former telecom minister A Raja who had earlier refused to  cross- examine the witnesses has on Thursday decided to begin proceedings in his defence.

Raja on November 11 in protest had told the special CBI Judge OP Saini that he would not cross examine the witnesses until the CBI framed the charges announcing that the probe is over.

So far six witnesses have been cross- examined and recently Raja’s former additional secretary Aseervatham Achary has revealed in the special CBI court that the former had an long association with corporate honchos facing probe in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
