2G scam: Court dismisses Swamy''s plea to make Chidambaram co-accused
TT Correspondent |  |  04 Feb 2012

Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy's plea to make home minister P Chidambaram a co-accused in 2G case has been dismissed by a Delhi court.

Swamy has all along been alleging that Chidambaram should be prosecuted in the case as he is party to the Raja’s decision on spectrum pricing.

After the verdict was pronounced Swamy said that he was surprised and would move the High Court against the decision.

The Supreme Court on Thursday had left the decision to probe the alleged role of Chidambaram in 2G case to the trail court.

A bench of justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly, which asked the lower court not to get influenced by its decision, had also refused to direct CBI to "investigate Chidambaram".

The special judge, on January 21, had reserved the order for February 4 on the plea of Swamy.
