TDSAT stays Dot’s penalty on Rcom
TT Correspondent |  |  10 Feb 2012

The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal  (TDSAT) in its interim order has stayed the penalty imposed on Reliance Communications (Rcom)by Department of Talecommunications (DoT)  for violating guidelines on subscribers identity.

The tribunal’s ruling has come as a relief to Rcom. The tribunal in its ruling said that RCom had outsourced its Customer Application Forms (CAFs) related work to an agency and now it has dispute with the firm.

"We are satisfied that prima facie the Petitioner could not comply with its obligations for the months of July and August, 2011, owing to the aforementioned order of injunction (by city court)," said the TDSAT bench headed by its Chairman Justice S B Sinha.
