California based Swipe Telecom, a technology start-up backed by Mantra Venture and incubated on the foundations of innovation, on Wednesday launched first 3D tablet PC called 3D LIFE for Indian market.

The device was launched by Bollywood actor Malaika Arora Khan.The company said that 3D LIFE targeted towards kids and youth provides a breathtaking experience of 3D gaming and 3D videos for its users and runs on the Android 4.03 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system. It boasts of a 7" TFT Five Point Touch Capacitive screen packing 800x480 pixels.

Under the hood, 3D LIFE is powered on an A13 Cortex processor on a blistering1.5GHZ clock speed, 4GB internal memory and a 512 MB DD RAM. The tablet can play videos for 5-6 hours at stretch and offers a large battery life with a 3400 mAH battery.

SWIPE Telecom also launched another 'first of its kind' tabX78 Float series targeted towards executives and business professionals which is India's slimmest and lightest Tablet weighing 295 grams with 8.5mm thickness.

"We are glad to introduce cutting-edge products for the Indian market. India is fast approaching the 1 million per annum tablet sales with current size estimated at $ 400 million (Rs. 2200 crore). The market for Tablets is poised to explode to the extent that 1 million Tablets got sold in a year will be sold every month in the next 3-5 years”, said Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO, Swipe Telecom.

Aman Gupta, Founder and CFO, Swipe Telecom said, "We are backed by Mantra Ventures (having portfolio companies into real estate, KPO, BPO and healthcare) with commitment of $10 million and we are also into serious discussions with global private equity players to raise additional $20 million. We have set ambitious growth target and we are confident that we will achieve 10% market share within the first year."
