ESPN owned Cricinfo in association with Plusmo comes up with the first full-fledged cricket widget, Mobicast for Apple’s iPhone.

Mobicast will allow the iPhone users to access Cricinfo’s famous, live, ball-by-ball updates, scorecard, match schedules, news, photos as well as podcasts from various experts.

Anil Nair of Cricinfo said “The iPhone has already reached iconic status and we are thrilled to offer cricket fans among iPhone users this unique service. In fact, Cricinfo’s Mobicast has already entered the select ‘Staff Picks’ list that chooses the most preferred iPhone applications.”

The widget also features a live summary of all the games in progress and a user interface allows users to navigate and get one-click access to schedules, breaking news, photos and Podcasts.

Other major mobile devices which can use Mobicast service include off-the-shelf feature phones and smartphones like Symbian phones, RIM Blackberry devices, Windows Mobile smartphones, Palm Treos and Pocket PC-enabled PDAs.
