Microsoft subsidiary introduces Blackberry application
TT Bureau |  |  23 Apr 2008

Microsoft Corp.’s subsidiary, Tellme has announced the launch of an application for BlackBerry that allows the users to conduct search engine functions through voice command.

With the application, mobile users can get search results on the nearest available restaurant, movie tickets and other services based on GPS and search results from Microsoft Live Search Engine..

Currently the application is compatible with Blackberry handsets but Microsoft plans to provide the application on other platforms as well including Helio, Windows Mobile and iPhone.

Mike McCue, founder and general manager of Tellme said “Tellme''s technology is separate from Microsoft’s Sync system, which lets drivers use their voice to control phones, music players and other devices in some Ford car models, the two experiences will become much more similar.”
