12 Chinese held by Malaysian authorities in telecom fraud-Report

Malaysian Authorities have arrested 12 Chinese believed to be involved in telecom fraud near Kuala Lumpur, reports Xinhua.
 
According to the investigators the suspects who were operating from a bungalow were would pose as Malaysian investigators and would threat to freeze the victims’ bank account if their demand for money were not met.
 
The well trained suspects who are aged between 9 and 36 would then ask the victims to transfer the money to their bank accounts. They used to trap people on phone.
 
Many landline phones, mobile phones, laptops, and other devices have been recovered from them.
 
The cases of telecom fraud have been on the rise of late with police unearthing as many as 204 telecom fraud syndicates, the agency reports.
