Tencent, the largest internet company in Asia Pacific has announced the availability of WeChat, the No.1 mobile messaging app on the BlackBerry platform.
The popular, free mobile voice and text messaging application which was launched in India in July last year across iPhone, Android, Symbian, and Windows platforms will now also be available for BlackBerry users.
This week, Tencent also announced that WeChat crossed 300 million registered users globally. WeChat's growth rate has been phenomenal, going from 100 million to 200 million user accounts in 6 months andonly 4 months to go from 200 million to 300 million user accounts.
With its launch on BlackBerry platform, millions of BlackBerry users will now also be able to use WeChat. BlackBerry loyalists in India can download the application for FREE from the BlackBerry App World.
WeChat for BlackBerry comes with the app’s core features like ‘push-to-talk’, Instant Messaging, Voice Messaging, Group Chat and Photo Sharing, and new features to be introduced along the way.
