Airtel, Tata Communications, SingTel under CBI scanner over illegal ILD services

The CBI has filed an FIR against leading telcos Bharti Airtel Ltd and Tata Communication Ltd for illegally providing international long distance (ILD) services in connivance with Singapore Telecommunications. The agency has filed a case against SingTel also.
 
This has allegedly caused loss to the tune of Rs 48 crore to the exchequer. According to the FIR filed in local court, ministry of communications and IT has alleged that provider M/s Singapore Telecommunications Ltd which was selling unauthorised ILD services to Indian customers since 2004. 
 
This had been done in connivance with Bharti Airtel and Tata Communications without the permission of Department of Telecommunications.
