Movirtu showcases two new mobile identity solutions for BYOD market
TT Correspondent |  |  04 Mar 2013

Movirtu, an innovator in identity solutions for mobile operators, has showcased two new virtual SIM-based solutions at Mobile World Congress.

It allow mobile operators to offer advanced mobile identity services to businesses and individuals who have embraced a Bring Your Own (BYOD) model.

The first solution, Movirtu WorkLife, solves the critical mobile phone number ownership problem of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), which was recently identified by CIO magazine as the most significant remaining barrier to widespread BYOD smartphone adoption. Movirtu WorkLife allows operators to offer their business customers a service that assigns a corporate number, as a second mobile number, to employee owned SIM cards.

The second solution, Movirtu ManyMe, can be used to add a ‘Bring Your Own Number’ capability to corporate mobile phones. With ManyMe, employees of companies that adopt a COPE (corporate owned, personally enabled) mobility model can add their existing personal number, as a secondary number, to their corporate SIM card and remove the need to carry and maintain two devices.

Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO at Movirtu, said: “BYOD is flourishing because of all the tangible benefits it brings to both employees and businesses in terms of cost reduction and productivity improvements. With Movirtu WorkLife and ManyMe, mobile operators have the opportunity to add a key piece of the puzzle by offering compelling, flexible and secure mobile identity services that remove the concerns associated with having a single phone number on a handset used for both personal and business communication.”

Both solutions are based on Movirtu’s patented Virtual SIM platform, which enables multiple numbers to be active on a single, standard SIM card. The company’s server platform is based on standard mobile network technology and, when integrated into the operator’s network, provides the basis for a variety of innovative service offerings.
