Pre-order for Nokia Lumia 520 which has recently launched has begun in India. Nokia is banking on Its Lumia series   to regain its market share in India and elsewhere. The device is priced at Rs. 10,499 and is available on infibeam.com.

Available with an 8GB Class 4 SanDisk Micro SD card Nokia 520 comes fitted with the same 5MP Auto Focus digital camera that was the flagship of Nokia Lumia 920.

It has WVGA touch screen which could match the best of smartphones. The  Windows 8  Smartphone has  Snapdragon S4 dualcore 1 GHz processor seconded by 512 MB RAM. One can connect to the net, browse and download with the help of Wi-Fi and 3G connections.

The device weighs only 124 gms and has dimensions of 119.9 x 64 x 9.9 mm. It comes with the a 1430 mAh battery.

Nokia is working out strategies to compete with Apple and Samsung at high-end smartphone segment and with likes of Micromax and Karbonn at lower end in India and elsewhere.

One of the strategies is its partnership with Microsoft to bring together complementary assets and expertise to form a global mobile ecosystem for smartphones. The success of its smartphones including the Lumia series is test of these strategies.
