Bharti Cellular CMD Sunil Mittal and Essar Group promoter Ravi Ruia on Tuesday appeared in a Delhi court in a case related to the alleged irregularities in the additional 2G spectrum allocation.
Both the accused furnished personal bonds as directed by the Supreme Court's direction and placed on record the apex court's order and submitted separate personal bonds.
The special CBI judge Saini accepted their bonds till the next date of hearing and posted the matter for further proceedings on April 22.
"It is further submitted that accused Sunil Mittal and Ravi Ruia were also directed to furnish personal bonds. Accordingly, both have furnished personal bonds and it is accepted till the next date," the judge said.
Mittal on March 9got a breather after the Supreme Court postponed hearing before the CBI special till April 15.
The Bench directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file an affidavit to put on record the charge sheet along with other documents filed with it before the special court.
Special 2G court had asked him to appear on April 11before it along with Essar Group promoter Ravi Ruia, and Asim Ghosh, former CEO of Vodafone Essar.
The CBI had named them in the charge sheet as accused, saying there was “enough material” to proceed against him in the case.
