Buoyed by the success of its earlier launches of Canvas series devices, Micromax has surprised everyone by launching two handsets within a span of two days. After launching Canvas Doodle A111 on Tuesday on a E-commerce site, Micromax, one of India’s leading handset makers has launched Canvas Music A88 which the company is offering with free JBL Tempo headset.

With a price tag of Rs.8499, the Canvas Music A88 will be available in the market across India from 16th May. The handset was in the news after it was showcased at the Micromax MTV Video Music Awards in Mumbai last month.

As expected the phone Micromax Canvas Music A88 is powered by a 1GHz Mediatek dual-core processor (MT 6577) and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The dual-SIM device has  512MB of RAM.

With a 4.5” full touch screen handset the company is obviously targeting the music lovers especially the youth. It comes with an 1800 mAh battery, the phone ensures a strong battery life supporting a talk time of 5 hours. The device comes with  a 5.0 MP rear camera with Flash and a 0.3MP front camera with an expandable storage capacity of up to 32GB.

Ajay Sharma Country Head Smartphone Division, Micromax said “Canvas Music A88 coupled with JBL headset and unlimited songs download via MLive! Application serves as a perfect offering to the youth echoing our vision of providing a fulfilling entertainment experience to all the music and multimedia lovers”

With its launch the company has reinforced the belief that it is betting on  its Canvas series phones to take on the handset giants like Nokia and Samsung in India.  Going by the frequency it is expanding the Canvas phones portfolio, one can expect more releases in near future.

Recently media reports leaked specifications of  Canvas series-A120 Canvas HD Pro which the company denied but specification looked quite convincing. Before that Micromax had launched its first 3D, 5-inch touch screen smartphone Canvas 3D A115Canvas HD. All these devices have gone down well with the buyers.
