Tata Comm, Cisco to set up telepresence for CII
TT Bureau |  |  01 May 2008

Tata Communications Ltd (TCL) and Cisco have announced to set up telepresence rooms at four offices of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The telepresence rooms will be set up at four key offices in New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Under the agreement Cisco will provide the telepresence equipment while Tata Communications will supply the connectivity to link the four CII sites. The Cisco rooms at the CII sites will be connected to Tata’s proposed international network of rooms in premier locations globally.

TCL Global Enterprise Solutions president Vinod Kumar said “CII members can avail of the facility on a ‘pay-per-use’ basis, and help reduce travel while attending more meetings simultaneously. This demonstrates Tata Communications’ ability to support mission critical applications that deliver performance reliability, scalability and flexible cost efficiency to enterprises.”

“Telepresence rooms will transform the way CII will do business and communicate with its customers, partners and colleagues,” said Cisco chief globalization officer Wim Elfrink.
