  Huawei which has emerged as a major handset player globally is all set to launch two new smartphones- Ascend D2 and the Ascend W1- for the Indian customers. The phones have appeared on company’s Indian Website.

There is no word from the company about the official launch and the price of these phones.
In June Huawei had indicated that it is going to assert its supremacy in the Indian handset market by selling one million smartphones in the country by the end of this year. It said that it will spend 1.75 billion rupees (US$30 million) to build its brand and strengthen its retail presence in India.
The Huawei Ascend D2 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and measures 140x71x9.4mm. It is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor. It has 2GB of RAM.

It has a 5-inch full-HD LCD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and weighs around 170 grams. It comes with an anti-scratch Corning Gorilla glass on top. It comes with 32GB inbuilt storage and does not support microSD cards. It sports a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with support for HDR and 1080P video recording. It also includes a 1.3-megapixel HD front-facing camera. The device runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The dust and water resistant device with IPX 5/4 certification has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS, EDGE and 3G as connectivity options. It packs in 3000mAh battery which according to company claims up to 144 hours of standby time.

The Ascend W1 has 4-inch LCD display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels with OGS Technology and is a Windows Phone 8 device. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 processor. It comes with 512 MB RAM.
The device comes with 4GB of internal storage expandable to up to 32GB through microSD card. It packs in a 1950mAh battery and sports a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
