Nokia Store crosses 2 billion downloads in India, 1 billion downloads on the S40 and Asha platform

The Nokia Store which is available in over 200 countries has pulled off a great success in India by crossing 2 billion downloads with over 80 million downloads a month currently.

Calling it a significant milestone, Nokia said that the app store account for 1 billion downloads on the S40 and Asha platform.
 
Globally, Nokia store hit 10 billion mark with cumulative downloads with Over 148,000 content items are available for Series 40 devices. If one talks about the daily downloads it touches 15 million mark.

While Action Games have emerged as the number 1 downloaded category, Adventure games are at No. 2, Sport games at No. 3, Entertainment related apps including video & movies at No. 4, followed by Utility based apps at No. 5.
 
The Indian developers have also benefitted immensely from this growth. “Over 168Indian developers have already achieved more than one million downloads for their apps, while 3 developers have achieved 100 million download”, Nokia said in statement.
 
It said that 9 developers have achieved 50 million download, 18 developers have achieved 25 million download and 40 developers have achieved 10 million downloads.
 
Some of the leading developers include India games Ltd., Reliance Games, Rendered Ideas Soft game Pvt Ltd, Twist Mobile, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. on this platform.
