German Ministry denies Deutsche Telekom merger with France Telecom
TT Bureau |  |  14 May 2008

Germany’s Finance Ministry denied speculations of proposed merger between Deutsche Telekom AG and France Telecom SA.

According to ministry spokesman, “This is wild speculation and nobody at the top of the ministry will publicly now or in the future express an opinion on Deutsche Telekom’s business opportunities.”

At present, Deutsche Telekom is in talks to buy 3 percent stake in Greece OTE after acquiring 20 percent stake last month.
