Samsung Galaxy S5 may come with 16MP camera, to be launched on February 24
TT Correspondent |  |  05 Feb 2014

Samsung will launch its much talked about Galaxy S5 smartphone with large screen on February 24, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The company had made this clear through an invite “Samsung unPacked 5" scheduled for this date.

Apert from the large scree, other features that Galaxy S5 might include are –a powerful 16-megapixel new camera, with an improved sensor, a powerful processor. It is expected to feature higher-resolution screen with a 2,560x1, 440-pixel AMOLED display. There are online reports that it will come with Android version 4.4 Kit Kat and a fast charging battery.

Its rival Apple is also likely to launch bigger screen smartphones, a feature  which so far have given an edge to the South Korean handset giant. With this the analysts are expecting an interesting battle between the two.  Last month Apple started selling iPhones through China Mobile, the world's biggest mobile carrier by subscribers.

Last month Samsung the world's biggest seller of smartphones, had reported decline in its fourth quarter profit from the previous quarter for the first time in more than two years.

Samsung is expecting increased competition, specifically from Apple, for sales of its Galaxy smartphones and in tablets. Apple has begun selling iPhones in China and is expected to introduce new iPhones with bigger screens.
