Alcatel launches octa-core powered one touch Idol X+ phablet for Rs 16999

Alcatel, on Thursday launched the One Touch Idol X+ in India for Rs. 16,999. The phone has been exclusively launched on Flipkart, and will be available from June 3. Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and is a dual-SIM device with dual standby. It features 5 inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and features a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 screen.

It is powered by 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and 2GB RAM. It sports 16 GB of built-in storage, 13.1 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. It has 2500 mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 27 hours of 2G talk time, 650 hours of 2G standby time, and continuous music playback of up to 36 hours.

For connectivity it includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Direct and DLNA functionality, GPS/ A-GPS, GRPS/ EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, and stereo FM radio. The device is bundling a Boomband and JBL headphones in the box. 

                                      

With this launch, Alcatel seems set to re-enter the Indian market in a big way, and launch more of its smartphones and tablets in the near future.
