WhatsApp, now back on Windows phone store with customisable UI and improved privacy
TT Correspondent |  |  02 Jun 2014

In a tweet, Joe Belfiore announced that the WhatsApp app is not only back in store, but also gets some new features. He posted the tweet along with the link to download the app from the Windows Phone Store.

The problem was with update 3 for the Windows Phone 8 rather than the WhatsApp app itself. The relaunched app has new features, which include chat backgrounds, custom notification tones, requires update 3 for Windows Phone 8, broadcast lists, media auto download, improved privacy settings and bug fixes. Media auto-download settings, Custom notification tones.

The multi-platform instant messaging app WhatsApp quietly pulled a Houdini on the Windows Phone Store nearly two weeks ago when it was taken off the store due to technical issues. But the company has now fixed the problem with the app for the Windows Phone platform.

This move will definitely help to boost WhatsApp user base because WhatsApp has already claimed to have 50 million monthly active users in India and announced that it crossed 500 million active users in April, out of which it added 50 million since February.
