Samsung introduces entry-level Galaxy Core II, Star 2, Ace 4, and Young 2 smartphones with KitKat OS

The Korean handset maker has a range of budget smartphones for the Indian market. The Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Star 2, Galaxy Ace 4 and Galaxy Young 2 running the Android KitKat operating system will hit the Indian stores in couple of weeks time. The prices of the devices are not revealed yet. It is expected to compete with the recent entry-level devices from Motorola, Lava, Karbonn and others.
 
The four phones will use simplified TouchWiz Essence user interface. The handsets will use Charcoal black and classic white colour options. The Galaxy Ace 4 is a single sim phone, while the Core II, Star 2 and Young 2 are dual-sim phones.
 
Galaxy Core II is a dual-sim device for users who want the optimal mix of style, portability, and power, says Samsung. The phone sports leather-like back cover design and has a 4.5 inch TFT display screen. It runs on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and has 768 MB of RAM. There is 4 GB of internal memory and 64 GB of expandable memory in the Core II. The phone sports a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash on the back side and a front VGA camera and is supported by a 2000 mAh battery.

Galaxy Ace 4 has a 4.5 inch display and is announced in two options of 3G and 4G LTE network compatibility handsets. The 4G device will be powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor while the 3G one will be getting a 1 GHz dual-core processor. The phone will sport a 5 megapixel camera on the back with an led flash to help in low light photography and a front VGA camera.

                                            

The 3G phone will run on 512 MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and 64 GB expandable memory. The 4G variant will use a little more RAM at 1 GB. Like the 3G handset this handset will carry 4GB internal memory and 64 GB expandable memory. The 4G handset is using a 1800 mAh battery while the 3G handset will depend on a 1500mAh battery.

Galaxy Young 2 is powered by a 1 GHz single-core processor and features a ‘long-lasting’ 1300mAh battery, according to Samsung. The 3.5-inch display smartphone will carry a 3 megapixel camera with no led and no front camera. The handset has got 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory and 32 GB expandable memory.

The attraction in this handset is going to be eight latest Gameloft games for an enjoyable experience. Clearly the handset  is aimed at the young smartphone users.

Galaxy Star 2 sports a 1 GHz single-core processor, coupled with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB RAM. The handset has got a 32 GB expandable memory. The handset has got a basic 2-megapixal camera with no led on the back and no front camera.

The handset supports a 1300 mAh battery and has a leather-like back panel that offers a premium look. This 3.5 inch phone also brings eight downloadable Gameloft games for the consumer.
