Bloomberg debuts mobile service on SingTel platform

Bloomberg has launched its mobile service by collaborating with Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) which will offer SingTel postpaid mobile users access to the financial and world news and performance of their shares and stock exchange indices.

 

The service will enable the user to access currency conversion calculator using real-time exchange rates for shares, the company claims. It further said that in the coming three months, the SingTel users will be able to access content like exclusive video-on-demand and podcasts and live TV streaming from Bloomberg.

 

Mr Jimmy Kim, Head of Network Development and New Media at Bloomberg Television Asia-Pacific, said “Choosing SingTel as our partner for this worldwide product is a reflection of our confidence both in SingTel’s platform and in Singapore as a new media market.”

 

Bloomberg further plans to expand the service to other countries in Southeast Asia and Greater China by 2008 end.
