Vodafone Germany Head says pay TV-based mobile TV services not feasible
TT Bureau |  |  26 May 2008

Vodafone Group’s German business head, Fritz Joussen does not find the business of paying for television on mobile phones to be feasible due to development of new handsets capable of receiving regular terrestrial TV signals.

Fritz Joussen said to Financial Times Deutschland, “These devices came as a surprise and call a payment based subscription model into question.”

In order to adopt an alternative to generate revenue, Vodafone plans to offer other services which will enable subscribers to view TV programs or music video clips on demand added Joussen.
