Gionee, on Tuesday launched the Marathon M5 Android smartphone in India at Rs. 17,999. The smartphone will be exclusively available for sale on Flipkart. The device is available in Black, Gold, and White colour variants.
The main attraction of the device is its battery. It comes with two 3010 mAh batteries, i.e. 6020 mAh in total. Gionee claims that the batteries should last up to 4 days. Another feature of the battery is its extreme mode, that can boost standby time at 5 percent battery life to 62 hours. Gionee Marathon M5 also supports reverse charging, that allow users to utilise the device as a power bank to charge other devices.
Gionee Marathon M5 is a dual-SIM dual standby smartphone and features a 5.5 inch HD Amoled display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It comes with 4G LTE functionality on both SIM card and runs Amigo 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is powered with a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad core MediaTek MT6735 processor and 3GB RAM.
Gionee Marathon M5 comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. It sports 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The device measures 152x76x8.55mm and weighs 214 grams.
