  Aksh Optifibre, one of the pioneers in the field of IPTV services in the country, announced its tie-up with BSNL to provide the latter’s subscribers in Northern parts of the country, its IPTV services.
According to the deal Aksh Optifibre will have to register 10,000 subscribers for its IPTV services within 9 months across 20 cities. The 20 cities include cities spanning Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and UP (West).
The company says that the incremental cost for acquiring, creating content and subscribers is expected to be 5 billion INR and funding for the project will be through fund raising from international market and recently conducted GDR / FCCB issues worth $40 million.
Dr. Kailash Choudhari, MD, Aksh Optifibre Ltd said “It is our endeavour to provide cost effective services to the masses and also to enter into tier II and III cities along with rural areas, giving them full rights to interactive entertainment in true sense establishing IPTV as the most competitive platform”.
The company is already in tie-up with MTNL for IPTV services. |
