Sharp Corporation, Japan’s biggest manufacturer of mobile phones, said it will kick start its wireless business in China with the launch of FH9010C handset, later this month.
The model, which is derived from the company’s 920SH ``Aquos keitai''', comes with a high-definition screen, and will target the affluent class consumers of China.
The company’s move to streamline its business in China is an attempt of Sharp Corp. to fish for businesses overseas, as its domestic business suffered a setback.
Its domestic mobile phone shipments in volume in April dropped 23.3 percent from a year earlier, marking a third straight month of year-on-year declines, said Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association.
Sharp will start the sale of is mobile phones this month via Dixintong, China's largest wireless phone retailer, reports the Nikkei newspaper. The models will reportedly be priced at 4,550 Yuan ($659). |
