Moneycontrol claims to have registered 2,50,000 users for mobile portal

The initiative started by Moneycontrol.com, to offer information services on mobile patform called ‘Markets on Mobile’ has received tremendous response as it added 2,50,000 users within four months of its launch, says the company.

 

This mobile application, accessible via GPRS phones, enables user to access any financial information related to stocks, be it stock price, recommendations and views or any important announcement made by the companies. The features which garnered maximum popularity include Portfolio Service and Company stock Quote page, claims the company.

 

Commenting on the enormous reception, Neeraj Sanan, Marketing Head, Web18 said “Due to changing lifestyles and more number of people on the move, we decided to enhance the experience for our users by offering Moneycontrol.com on the Mobile platform. Despite the minimal marketing activity, we have seen the phenomenal response, which in a true sense reflects the latent need that exists for similar products in the markets.”
