IPTV: Broadcasters, Players agree on rates
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  14 Jun 2008

The IPTV sector in the country received some boost as the broadcasters and IPTV service providers reached to consensus on the rates on content feed.

The issue was brought to the notice of Trai by IPTV service providers who alleged that the broadcasters were charging higher rates as compared to those being charged from DTH service providers.

Trai says that the broadcasters have now agreed to charge IPTV providers the same rate as those for DTH operators. The rate would be 50 per cent of the prices applicable for non-CAS cable television networks.
