World’s No. 2 mobile phone maker, South Korea’s Samsung intends to sweep into Finland, the home of rival and No. 1 player Nokia, with its new range of touchscreen phones, reports Reuters.
According to a recent study, Samsung currently owns 6 percent share in the Finnish market, in contrast to Nokia which enjoys about 86 percent share in the country.
The South Korean vendor is seeking to strengthen its position in Finland with a line-up of devices such as its latest offering- Omnia, which was just launched in Europe and is slated for a release in Australia.
Samsung had a stronger position in the Finnish market in 2005 when it introduced clamshell phones there, a new trend in the European market at the time. |
