China Telecom invites bids for over 500,000 IPTV terminals

China Telecom has begun inviting bids for IPTV 2.0 terminals using a unified bidding procedure with an aim to cut secret deals between terminal and system manufacturers and enhance competition and lower costs.

 

The bidding will take place for 574,000 IPTV terminals including 536,000 standard-definition terminals and 38,000 high-definition terminals.

 

The potential bidders include the players participating in the ongoing trials being conducted by China Telecom.
