July System, NDTV Convergence to launch ‘Mi SMS’ service

NDTV Convergence and July System have come together to offer consumers a enhanced Mobile 2.0 version based services called ''Mi SMS' promising more personalized, interactive and multi-media experience on mobile handsets. 

 

Users with GPRS connectivity can have access to latest news, stories, videos, stocks and cricket scores. The content will be hosted on NDTV Active. The differentiator is that subscribers can access these services for free and will be presented contextual mobile advertisements. The ads will be in the form of banners, videos and text ads. Users will be charged data access charges from the operator.

 

"We are targeting $1 million in revenue, which will comprise about 15 per cent of our total revenue through this service," said Sanjay Trehan, CEO, NDTV Convergence.
