SK Telecom, IBM to develop ‘Software as a Service’ for enterprise customers

SK Telecom and IBM Korea have entered into a strategic agreement under which both the firms will come out with Software as a Service (SaaS) business model to offer enhanced mobile services for the enterprise clients. 

As per the deal SK Telecom will combine its Biz Common Platform (BCP) solution with IBM middleware products for the development of SaaS targeting the enterprise segment. Further both the firms together are planning to expand service scope from Sales Force Automation (SFA), Field Force Automation (FFA), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and groupware to Supply Chain Management (SCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Human Resource Management (HRM). 

Additionally expansions plans related to applications services like u-city, u-campus, and u-healthcare are also in consideration by both the firms. Speaking further on the alliance, SK Telecom’s Shin said “We are satisfied to cooperate with the global IT leader IBM in the enterprise mobile service sector, which is likely to lead innovation in the future corporate working environment.”
