ZTE unveils U728, industry’s first TD-SCDMA TV handset

While embracing the Olympics’ theme- ‘Technology Olympics”, ZTE Corporation announced the official launch of U728, the industry’s first TD-SCDMA TV handset which holds the potential of receiving crisp and quality TV signals.

 

Designed as a commercial smartphone, U728 can support both CMMB (China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting)’s mobile TV technology and GSM+CMMB, allowing consumers to enjoy Olympic events anytime and anywhere.

 

Besides, the handset is bundled with other features such as- 3G services capability including WAP, VP, MMS, JAVA, video streaming to provide subscribers high-speed multi-media services over next-generation 3G networks and an enhanced user interaction with TV programs by allowing them to send program enquiry, receive and forward program details via SMS.

 

While commenting on the handset, Lin Qiang, General Manager of ZTE Smartphone Production Line, ZTE Corporation said, “We are pleased to make our first TD-SCDMA TV handset available in the market in time for the holding of one of the most important sporting events in China’s history. As a visionary, we’ve been striving hard to realize the core value of Mobile TV, setting our eye on delivering full range of advanced mobile solutions to meet growing consumer demands for reliable multimedia applications.”

 

The handset will hit the domestic market right in time for the Beijing Olympic Games.
